Pauline Justin
Pauline E. Justin, 92, of Bloomington, passed away at 12:15 p.m. on Dec. 22 at Heritage Health in Normal. Her Celebration of Life service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Jan. 3 at St. Luke Union Church in Bloomington with Rev. Dr. Andrew Gifford officiating. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Jan. 2 at Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington.
Inurnment will be at Park Hill Cemetery in Bloomington. Cremation rites have been accorded. Memorials may be made to St. Luke’s Union Church.
Pauline was born on Feb. 23, 1922 in rural Lexington, a daughter of Richard Roy and Verna Kahle Jones. She married Ivan C. Roseman in 1940. He preceded her in death when killed in service to his country on January 1, 1945 during WWII. She married Drexel A. Justin in 1956 in Bloomington. He preceded her in death in 1999.
Surviving are a son, Alan (Sandra) Roseman of Bloomington; a daughter, Doris (Chuck) Harris of Bloomington; daughter-in-law Jennifer Roseman of Lexington; brother, Ronald (Carol) Jones of Springfield; sister-in-law, Beverly Jones of Bloomington; seven grandchildren, Kristi (Bob) Flegel of Bloomington, Kevin Roseman of Normal, Geoff Harris of Bloomington, Kelly Harris of Bloomington, Brian (Katie) Roseman of Appleton, Wis., Natalie Roseman-Mendoza of Bloomington, Nicholas (Amber) Roseman of Austin, Texas; 11 great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; son, Lynn Roseman; sister, Doris Jones Ruble; and four brothers, Ivan Jones, Earl Jones, Merle Jones and Richard Jones.
Pauline grew up on the family farm in Randolph, and graduated from Heyworth High School. She moved to Bloomington in 1945 after the death of her husband, Ivan. To support her three young children, she worked as a seamstress at Knight’s Window Shoppe. After marrying Drexel, she worked alongside him in their decorating business.
Pauline was a long-time member of St. Luke Union Church in Bloomington, and appreciated all of her church friends who were like family to her. She was involved in numerous clubs and social organizations, including the Brokaw Hospital Service League, volunteering at the BroMenn Thrift Shop for many years. Something that gave her great joy was taking social dance classes with Drexel, which resulted in many lasting friendships.
Pauline was known for wearing hats, and she had one for every occasion. She was called the "Hat Lady" by many. She also enjoyed belonging to the "Red Hat Society". Pauline was a very proud and strong woman, but she was also a lady with a great sense of humor.
The family would like to thank the Jesus Garcia family, Gwen and Chuck Yurieci, and her many friends for all their kindnesses to Pauline through the years.
Pauline loved her family and enjoyed her life to its fullest. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Douglas Codding
Douglas Lee Codding, 39, of Bloomington passed away Dec. 23 at 9:34 am at Bloomington Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.
There will be no services. Memorials may be made to the Huntington’s Disease Society of America. Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home is assisting her family with arrangements.
Douglas was born Dec. 17, 1975 in Bloomington, a son to Kenneth and Alice Reum Codding.
He is survived by his mother Alice Codding of Bloomington, several cousins, and many friends at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Lexington, Illinois.
Douglas was preceded in death by his father Kenneth, and brother, Eric Codding.
Douglas graduated from Bloomington High School and worked for Francois Associates for six years. He was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church in Lexington for over 10 years, avid Chicago Cubs fan, and chess player.
