Bloomington-Normal holiday trash schedule

Garbage and recycle will not be collected in Bloomington-Normal on Christmas.

Garbage and recycle normally collected that day will be collected on Friday, Dec. 26 along with the normal Friday route.

The Bloomington Public Works Department says Christmas trees can be placed at the curb for collection beginning on Dec. 27. Trees must have all lights, ornaments, tree stands and bags removed. Trees will be collected from residential properties only.

The Normal Public Works Department says Christmas trees should be placed at the curb minus all metal objects and plastic bags after 6 p.m. on the day before your regular collection day or prior to 6 a.m. on the day of collection.

The Bloomington drop-off facility will be closed on Dec. 24-26, reopening on Dec. 29. Bulk waste will also not be collected on these days.

In Normal, landscape waste will not be collected Dec. 24-26. It will end on Dec. 31 and will resume approximately March 30, 2015.  Residents who have leaves or other vegetation to dispose of (no woody materials) may bring them to the Public Works landscape waste drop site at 1301 Warriner Street.
