BLOOMINGTON – Wine makers also known as vintners might not be the first thing that comes to mind when people think Illinois but maybe they should be.

Illinois' local vineyards are praised by many residents as some of the best in the world.  President of the Illinois Grape Growers and Vintners Association, Bruce Morganstern wants to share that message.

"Kickaproo Creek, Mackinaw valley – If you haven't visited Mackinaw Wineries, everyone should," said Morganstern. "It's the most beautiful vista."

Vineyards are important sources of tourism in Illinois and bolster local economies said Morganstern.

"Half a million visitors to the state of Illinois for tourism and they are strictly coming to visit wineries," said Morganstern

Illinois poet Vachel Lindsay…

African-Americans have been killed too many times in the past before George Floyd, but the response to this man’s death is international and all-encompassing. I was a grade-schooler during the Civil Rights 1960s. I watched Birmingham demonstrators hosed and the Selma – Montgomery…

Workers’ Memorial Day – Remember those whose job took their life

Looking around our community, when we say employer, most will respond to State Farm, Country, or Illinois State University.   We too often forget those who are building our roads, serving our food, or our public employees. COVID-19 has made us more aware of the risk.  Going to work every day for some people means…
