Kurt Neubauer
Kurt Charles Neubauer, 60, passed away Dec. 8 at Lincoln Towers, his home in Bloomington. Born in Evanston, Ill., in 1958 he was the son of Beverly (Hamilton Barr) and Harold Neubauer.
He graduated from Humboldt High School and Iowa Central Community College where he received an Associates in Marketing and a second degree in Nursing.
In 1980, Kurt built a solid-log home for his family in Nottingham, New Hampshire.
Her worked in retail and was an early user of eBay to sell items he collected from his antiquing and flee market adventures. He loved fishing, camping, jigsaw puzzles, and collection just about anything.
In 2008, he moved from Humboldt, Iowa, to Bloomington and lived at Lincoln Towers were he found a great community of friends. He never knew a stranger and had many friends. Last week he hand-delivered 100 Christmas Cards to his neighbors.
Surviving are his mother, Beverly Neubauer, Bloomington; son, Andrew (Nanci) Neubauer, Barrington, N.H.; daughter, Lori (Barry) Pellatt, Dover, N.H.; Grandchildren, Brody and Brandon Neubauer, Barrington, N.H., and Lila and Molly Pellatt, Dover, N.H.; sisters Nancy (George) Seidler, Peoria, and Linda (Terry) Garbe, Towanda.
His father and grandparents preceded him in death.
He was a member of the Methodist Church in Humboldt, Iowa.
Kurt had been on dialysis since 2012 and suffered from congestive heart failure.
The family would like to thank Kurt's extended family at Lincoln Towers, Dr. James Vales and his staff, and the staff of Fresenius Medical Care for their loving support.
In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to the Diabetes Association. There will be no visitation. Burial will be in the Edgar County Cemetery in Paris, Ill.
