Archivist Rebecca Erbelding received a call at the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum in late 2007 about a donation of some World War II era photos. What first appeared to be a simple photo album turned out to be a very rare glimpse into the world of the life of Nazi SS officers who were overseeing Hitler's Final Solution at the Auschwitz death camp.
