By Kent Casson

Livingston County residents were able to learn more about farming the wind at a series of open houses this week. Representatives from Portland-based PPM Energy held open houses in Odell, Dwight and Pontiac to inform the public of a wind farm the company is proposing in parts of Livingston and LaSalle Counties. PPM Project Developer Jesper Michaelson says the proposed project would provide up to 900 megawatts of renewable energy. The first public hearings at the county level could begin during the second half of March, which is one of the first steps in the county’s process of allowing the wind farm.
