Balderman backs out of 11th congressional race
02/22/2008 15:48:13
McLean County Republican Party Chairman John Parrott says he was shocked and disappointed by Tim Balderman's decision to back out of the 11th congressional district race for Jerry Weller's seat.
Parrott tells WJBC's R.C. McBride he had talked at length with Balderman to make sure he was prepared for the demands of running and Balderman assured him he could handle the responsibilities. But, Balderman today said he can't balance his candidacy plus requirements as mayor of New Lenox and police chief of Chicago Ridge.
So now what? Parrott says he's talked with Bloomington State Representative Dan Brady about re-considering his earlier decision not to run.

Parrott says Dan Brady has told him he would consider getting into the race if he had the support of the seven county Republican chairs within the 11th congressional district. They will take a weighted vote and must have a candidate on the ballot by Augsut 28.th.
