An accident near the Dwight prison last night left one person dead and another injured. Thirty-two-year-old Brian Lipe of Pontiac was pronounced dead at the scene. State Police say Lipe was riding a Harley Davidson motorcycle, turning west onto Route 17 from the prison, while 34-year-old Amanda Kluever of Wenona was driving a Lincoln Navigator SUV east on the highway. Police say Kluever’s SUV crossed into the westbound lane, entered the shoulder of the road, and struck the motorcycle head on. Kluever was taken to St. James Medical Center in Pontiac where she was later released. Authorities say she was wearing a seatbelt. Kluever was cited for driving in the wrong lane.
