Two men have been released from the hospital after an accident near Chatsworth on Thursday, involving a semi truck and construction crane. State Police say 42-year-old Robert Overman of Bloomington was driving the crane west on Route 24 when the right front wheel fastener broke, causing Overman to lose control and cross the center line, striking the semi, driven
by 55-year-old Will Whipple of Ashley, Illinois.

Overman’s crane then ran off the road and overturned. Whipple’s semi also ran off the road and came to rest on the shoulder. The highway was closed for a brief time, because of spilled fuel. Overman was cited by police for having broken wheel fasteners.
