Fire officials are issuing their annual safety reminders about fireworks.

Pontiac Fire Chief John Cummins says bottle rockets and sparklers can be dangerous because they can remain hot for hours after they are lit.

If you'd rather leave the fireworks to the professionals -- you can watch the Spirit of McLean County fireworks displays from Miller and Fairview parks at dusk. WJBC will provide the music synchronized to the fireworks.
