CHICAGO (AP) -- Three people were shot, one fatally, as thousands left a pre-Independence Day fireworks display on Chicago's lakefront. Chicago police spokeswoman Amina Greer says a 19-year-old man was shot in the head at a downtown intersection last night and taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Another man was shot in the arm, and taken to Northwestern, where he is reported in stable condition. A third man, who was grazed on the head by a bullet, walked into John H. Stroger Hospital of Cook County, where he was treated and released.

The names of none of the victims have been released.

Greer says one person is being held in connection with the shootings, and a weapon has been recovered. She adds the shootings appear to be gang related.
