UTICA, IL - Authorities at Starved Rock State Park say an Indiana boy has survived a 90-foot fall into a canyon with no serious injuries. Sergeant Robert Frazier is with the Illinois Department of Natural Resources Conservation Police.

He said Friday that the 7-year-old boy was on a trail with his family when he ran off and fell 60 feet down the park's Sac Canyon.

Frazier says the boy then slid another 30 feet down a steep slope.

Authorities say a conservation officer came to the boy's aid. He was taken to Illinois Valley Community Hospital in Peru and treated for minor injuries. Officials didn't immediately have an identification or hometown for the boy.
