County Board rejects Heyworth asphalt plant
10/16/2007 13:47:21

A proposed asphalt plant southeast of Heyworth has been buried.
The McLean County Board today, without comment , did not approve Entler Excavating's request to re-zone 10 acres southeast of Heyworth.
The county's zoning board initially recommended approval but reversed that opinion after the county board ordered a second round of hearings.
During the most recent hearing, Heyworth residents complained about asphalt trucks using Route 136. There was testimony a majority of Heyworth Junior and Senior High School students cross the highway each day.
