Heartland Community College softball is in the final three of the National Junior College Athletic Association Division II National Tournament in Normal after winning three straight games on Friday.

The Hawks captured a 2-0 win over Kankakee, followed by a 5-2 win over Iowa Lakes and a 4-3 victory over Lansing. Lansing had sent the Hawks into the losers' bracket on opening day with a 3-0 victory. Amber May pitched complete games to pick up the wins over Kankakee and Lansing, holding Kankakee to just two hits. Hannah Dow went the distance to pick up the win over Iowa Lakes.

Heartland takes a 36-11 record into the losers' bracket final against Copiah-Lincoln of Mississippi (33-11) at 9:00 Saturday morning at Champion Fields in Normal. The winner will play defending champion Phoenix College at 11:00 for the championship. An "if necessary" game would follow at 1 p.m.
