State budget talks are moving ahead at the Capitol, but not at the table at which most budgets are crafted. Both the House and Senate are working on their own versions of the budget. Budget negotiator Representative Gary Hannig says he still hopes that a budget deal will be done by the end of May. He won't say much about what the House is working on, but implies that the House version doesn't have much in the way of new or expanded programs.
The chambers are scheduled to adjourn on May 29.
