Illinois congressmen with heavy farm interests in their districts are looking toward this week’s expected vote on a new Farm Bill. Speaking to reporters this week, U.S. Representatives Phil Hare and John Shimkus are optimistic of a veto-proof majority.

Shimkus says while he’s a big supporter of his party’s presidential candidate, he doesn’t agree with Senator John McCain when it comes to farm subsidies. McCain is against them.
