Coachman demolition delayed....again

Mayor Steve Stockton says the Illinois EPA has approved the plan to tear down the Coahcman Hotel but the city is still reviewing the parameters set by the agency.

Bloomington has spent more than two years trying to get the Coachman Motel on East Washington torn down, and it's going to have to wait a little longer.

A change order for the demolition was scheduled to be on Monday night's agenda. Mayor Steve Stockton says the Illinois EPA has approved the plan to tear down the building, but the city is still reviewing the parameters set by the agency.

Meanwhile the council approved a close to $2.4 million dollar contract with Rowe Construction to resurface many of the city's streets.

The road projects should be completed by Labor Day.
