Rutherford-Radogno seek prison support

State Senators Dan Rutherford and Christine Radogno are touring the state trying to gain support for legislation that would require a longterm plan for the state's prison system. The lawmakers want to put a moratorium on closing any prisons until a plan is in place. This is reaction to the governor's decision last week to close the Pontiac Correctional Center. Rutherford says a longterm plan makes sense.

The Vandalia prison closed a few years ago and earlier this year, Stateville was on the chopping block. The governor plans to hold public hearings about the Pontiac prison.
