SPORTS - IWU claims top seed in NCAA baseball playoffs

Illinois Wesleyan has secured the number one seed in the Central Regional of the NCAA Division III Tournament. The regional is being hosted by Augustana College and the games will be played at Swanson Stadium in Moline, May 14-17. The Titans (33-9) will play 6th seed Webster (28-13) in the first game of the double-elimination regional on Wednesday, May 14 at noon. Coach Dennis Martel says his Titans earned the top seed.

The Titans clinched the automatic bid to the NCAAs after winning the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Tournament.

The Titans earned their second straight NCAA berth and their 4th in the last five years.
