EDWARDSVILLE - Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville is wading into the online social-networking craze. The school has launched its own online gathering place for alumni to talk to current students, faculty and staff. The school's alumni affairs chief, Steve Jankowski, says Cougar Tracks combines social connection and professional networking, and even job searches. Since its launch last month, about 250 people have signed up. Such alumni social-networking sites aren't new. The University of Florida has one called ``Gator Nation,'' which began as a job search and internship site. It now has 40,000 members. SIUE has more than 80,000 graduates over its 50-year history.
