A homeless man is facing charges for robbing a Bloomington bank last month, but he didn't take any money. Bloomington Police Department spokesman Duane Moss says 58-year-old Larry Newnum walked into Chase Bank on East Washington April 25 and handed the teller a note demanding money.

Moss says police caught up with Newnum about a block away. After questioning him, police took Newnum to the hospital for evaluation. He told police he never indented to rob the bank and he just needed help. Newnum was arrested this morning for aggravated robbery and has a bond hearing this afternoon.
