A Bloomington-based nursing home company has sent a letter to vendors, warning them the state's late Medicaid payments could impact when they get paid.
Heritage Enterprises, which operates 34 nursing homes statewide, is telling vendors it is a strong company and vendors are not in any danger of not being paid. Spokeswoman Lori Laughlin says Heritage wanted to give vendors a heads up because it appears the state is going to continue stretching out its Medicaid payments.

The letter says Heritage hasn't been paid in seven months for services given to Medicaid patients which represent more than half of all residents in the company's nursing homes.

Heritage Enterprises is also urging vendors to contact elected officials about the late payments.
