By The Associated Press

CHICAGO, IL - Sun-Times Media Group said Wednesday that it expects its stock to be suspended and delisted by the New York Stock Exchange. The moves comes for the company not meeting requirements for average price and market capitalization.

The Chicago newspaper publishing company says it expects its shares to trade on the OTC Bulletin Board upon delisting from the NYSE. Company CEO Cyrus Freidheim says the decision will not impact the company's financial status, the way it conducts business or its plans to explore a possible sale.

Sun-Times Media Group is the parent company of the Chicago Sun-Times and publishes dozens of smaller newspapers in the metropolitan area.
