ISU to raise tuition - board rates

ISU President Al Bowman says the school will vote on a 9.9 percent tuition increase this Friday.

Illinois State is feeling the sting of higher food costs as restaurants and grocery stores across the country raise prices. President Al Bowman says the Board of Trustees will vote Friday to increase board-rates for campus food by 10 percent.

But he tells WJBC's R.C. McBride, the school won't be as heavily affected as commercial restaurants.

The board will also vote on a 9.9 percent tuition increase. Bowman calls it 'modest', adding another $690 to the annual tuition rate.
