The Bloomington City Council took action Monday night to try to improve the quality of life in Bloomington. Council members approved to pay almost $50,000 to enter into a contract with Teska Associates Incorporated to complete a neighborhood redevelopment plan for West Bloomington.
Teska Principal Scott Goldstein explained many people haven't experienced this type of process before.

A community meeting is planned for May 8th at Mount Pisgah Church and council members say they fully support it.

State Farm and the Economic Development Council jointly funded just over $45,000 of the contract total of $89,430.
In other business, the council approved to spend close to $88,000 on new playground equipment for city parks, including the purchase of the NEOS electronic gaming system.
