Pontiac High School recognized for prescription recycling program

Just in time for Earth Day, a group of Pontiac High School students are being recognized for their efforts to cleanup the environment. Lieutenant Governor Pat Quinn presented the Environmental Hero Award to Pontiac High School students for keeping the water supply safer with a local
drug disposal program. Quinn credits everyone involved for the program’s success.

Thanks to the disposal program, local pharmacies are collecting unused and unwanted prescription drugs and they’re placing the drugs in secure bins.
