A Livingston County jury has awarded a Fairbury woman $14.6 million after a 2002 construction accident. While Bobbi Jo Craver was a highway construction worker, the lawsuit claims a concrete cutter ran over her and the accident resulted in the amputation of one of her legs below the knee. The incident occurred on Interstate 55 near Pontiac.

The heavy equipment company, Vermeer Central Illinois, will have to pay for Craver’s injuries, while Craver’s former employer, G.M. Sipes Construction is also named in the suit. G.M. Sipes does not have to pay damages but must pay worker’s compensation.
