Duncan Manor has new owners

Duncan Mansion was built by William Duncan one mile southwest of Towanda following the Civil War.

She has been eyeing the property for eight years, and has finally got her hands on it. Old House Society President Diane Sullivan has bought Duncan Manor, the historic home you can see from I-55 when you drive north of Bloomington. Sullivan says there were signs of vandalism, like spray paint and broken windows.

They own about ten historical homes in the area. She says this one is different because they plan to live there, and it's their biggest local project.

Duncan Manor is on the National Register of Historic Places. Sullivan will be detailing the restoration project during the Towanda Area Historical Society program on April 22. For more information on Duncan Mansion you can go to http://towandahistory.org/
