There was a bit of a run on gasoline at the Thornton's gas station on Main Street in Bloomington over the noon hour because prices at its pumps remained at $3.12.
Prices jumped an average 30 cents a gallon to as high as $3.44 a gallon at many other Twin City stations.
A customer who asked to be identified only as 'Dee' says word spread quickly at her work place, so she headed right over to Thornton's. She waited about five minutes to fill up.
