A McLean County Judge says a Bloomington teenager should be tried as an adult and face adult consequences for a break-in and attempted sexual assault.
Seventeen-year-old Isaiah "Michael" Stokes was already convicted in juvenile court of two other burglaries committed after the late February break-in and assault a year ago. Prosecutors say Stokes got into a woman's residence through a window and held a pillow over her face while he straddled her and told her he wanted sex. After a five-minute struggle, prosecutors say the victim broke free and phoned police. She was also able to convince her attacker to give her back her purse before he unlocked a door and left.
Stokes is being held in the McLean County jail on $30,000 bail.
