Mitsubishi sales down last month

Sales of Mitsubishi vehicles stalled in February -- as they did industry-wide, but its products made at the plant in Normal did fairly well. Spokesman Dan Irvin says sales of the Eclipse coupe and Eclipse Spyder jumped 7 and 29 percent respectively.

But overall sales are down 6 percent over the last year. Irvin says consumers are delaying buying new cars because they are worried about the economy. But he says consumers who are buying don't seem to be as worried about fuel-efficiency as the industry predicted.
