It’s the day before Christmas and all through the town, folks are hustling and bustling, but some with a frown.

It’s last minute shopping to get that best gift. But it’s really the kids that are prepared for a lift.

For tomorrow is coming, and it brings them great joy. It’s trinkets and presents for girls and for boys.

And yet there were some who would face a great sadness. No care would they get and very little gladness

But with sleep still in their eyes as they go to the tree, they’ll be shouts of hooray and giggles of glee

Yes on Christmas morning for kids of our town, you opened your hearts and showed that your love abounds.

For 20 years have the strong in their dress blues and swagger, made sure that Tots would have Toys that they felt like they mattered.

This year you were part of it, so as you unwrap your own, a smile you have caused on tomorrows Christmas morn.

On behalf of the Marine Corp Reserve Toys For Tots of McLean County, thank you for making our 2012 drive a success. It’s because of your generosity that children in our community will wake up on Christmas morning and feel the true spirit of the season.

And from me a special thanks for making the last 17 years for Toys For Tots a joy. Having met and worked with so many of you who have shared my passion for kids and Christmas, I will treasure the memories for the rest of my life.
