WJBC, in partnership with Frontier Communications and Roberts Trophies, is again proud to present the High School Athletes of the Week.

Here the winners for the week of Oct. 8, 2012:

Hannah Boyd - U-High swimming

Hannah won the 50-yd freestyle and 100 backstroke and anchored two winning relay teams in the 200 medley and 400 freestyle to lead the Pioneers to a seventh consecutive Intercity Swin Meet title at Horton Pool in Normal.

Shane Bruning - LeRoy football

Shane rushed for 265 yards on 30 carries and scored four touchdowns to lead the No. 5 state-ranked Panthers to a 37-24 win over No. 9 Ridgeview in a battle of unbeatens.
