BLOOMINGTON - With about a month and a half to go, the United Way of McLean County's annual campaign is only $1.1 million shy of its goal.
The campaign, which started this summer, has raised 75 percent of the targeted funds.
"We know the needs in the community are there," said campaign chair Barb Baurer. "At this time of the year we all have a lot to be thankful for, but we also know that a lot of people in our community still need our help."
Baurer said nearly $3.3 million has been raised out of $4.35 million.
"With the community's help and a good push at the end, I think we can make it," she said.
The organization increased this year's goal by $50,000 compared to last year.
Donations can be made at uwaymc.org. Baurer said all donations made online through Dec. 17 are entered for a chance to win one of 15 prizes for the Bloomington Blaze game on Jan. 11.
