NORMAL - Police say the 200 block of N. Mitsubishi Motorway has reopened following a crash involving a car and semi tractor-trailer on Friday.
Normal Police Lieutenant Dave Warner said a southbound car crossed the center median and collided with a northbound semi at about 8:25 a.m.
"(The car) made contact with the trailer and the trailer went over the hood of the car, backing into the trailer," Warner said.
Warner says rescue crews had to cut off the roof off of the Toyota Camry to extricate the driver, Jason Parker. Police haven't provided any further information about the driver, citing privacy laws.
Parker was taken to Advocate BroMenn Medical Center in Normal and is listed in critical condition.
Police say Parker will be ticketed for improper lane usage and not wearing a seat belt.
Normal police and fire crews responded, along with Illinois State Police and the McLean County Sheriff's Office.
