BLOOMINGTON - Cory Hartema and Tony Rettick connected on two touchdown passes to lead Central Catholic to its fourth straight victory with a 21-7 decision over Mahomet-Seymour in Corn Belt Conference action.

Rettick threw 36 yards to Hartema for the first score that capped a 4-play, 57-yard drive. A Central Catholic fumble set up a Mahomet-Seymour touchdown before Hartema was on the receiving end of a 58-yard pass for his second touchdown in the first quarter. McKay Moews' interception gave the Saints the ball.

The Saints' final touchdown came in the third quarter on a 20-yard pass from Rettick to Moews, who kicked all three conversion kicks.

Rettick finished with 219 yards on 11 completions in 21 attempts. Nate Atkins rushed for 65 yards on nine carries, while Hartema had six receptions for 140 yards. Defensively, Moews had 14 tackles, including a quarterback sack.

Mahomet-Seymour's lone touchdown came on a 33-yard pass from Joe Kenney to Jordan Rock.

The Saints played without standout linebacker/tight end Justin Segobiano.

"That's the first time we fought through adversity all year and the kids handled it," said Saints' coach Bobby Moews. "I think we learned a lot tonight."

The victory moved Central Catholic's record to 4-3 overall and 4-2 in the conference. Mahomet dropped to 5-2 overall and 4-2 in the Corn Belt.
