Over 250 clergy in Illinois are supporting a gay marriage measure which could come up for a vote in Springfield in early January.  The "Chicago Tribune" reports the clergy members, most coming from the Chicago area, have endorsed the bill.  On Sunday, pastors and rabbis from denominations which support gay rights, unveiled a declaration supporting equality for gay couples. They said in the declaration that fostering faith, justice and compassion is a key part of their jobs.  The declaration stated "Standing on these beliefs, we think that it is morally just to grant equal opportunities and responsibilities to loving, committed same-sex couples."  The bill could come up for a vote before January 9th.
