The Illinois State men look to rebound from a frustrating one-point loss to Wichita State on Sunday as they visit Evansville tonight.
A Jackie Carmichael rebound was at the center of the controversy on Sunday as he drew a flagrant foul for inadvertently kicking Wichita State's Tekele Cotton as Carmichael came down with the ball. Carmichael was given the technical only after replay review and the officials then mistakenly awarded the free throws to Cleanthony Early who made both free throws to fuel an 8-0 Shockers run in the final 41 seconds.
The Missouri Valley Conference disciplined the officials for awarding the free throws to the wrong player.
The Redbirds (16-11, 7-8 in the MVC) are tied with the Purple Aces and Bradley for fifth place the league with three conference games to go.
Dick Luedke, Mike Matthews and studio host Paul Morello have the play-by-play at at 6 p.m. on WJBC 1230 AM, 93.7 FM, the WJBC Country Financial Illinois State Radio Network and here on WJBC.com.
