NORMAL – First a new coach, then a new floor, a new locker room nearing completion – and now – new uniforms.
The Illinois State men’s basketball team unveiled brand new, red Nike road jerseys Friday for the 2012-13 season, which tips off next month.
“I think the new jerseys look great,” Redbird head coach Dan Muller said. “The players designed them mostly, and they love them, which is important to me. I think they look sharp, and I think the fans will really like them.”
The new Nike Hyper Elite Dri-FIT game jerseys feature a No Look design with mesh fabric and an engineered mesh back panel for a lightweight and breathable fit. The uniform also utilizes Illinois State’s own Redbird Font
“They are light-weight with the new fabric, which is good for games,” Muller said. “I’m excited that Nike has worked so well with us.”
Illinois State will wear its white version of the new jerseys when the Redbirds play their lone exhibition game of the season Monday, Nov. 5, versus Quincy. ISU will once again don the home uniforms when it opens the regular season Monday, Nov. 12, against UC Santa Barbra.
