LOGAN, Utah - Jarred Shaw recorded a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds to pace Utah State to an 80-71 victory over Illinois State in a BracketBusters game on Saturday night.

Illinois State (19-7) was 11 of 32 from 3-point range, including 7 of 14 by Tyler Brown, who finished with 35 points. He also had 10 rebounds.

Coach Dan Muller said besides Brown and Carmichael, who had 20, the Redbirds couldn't find a flow on offense.

"We had some guys just miss some shots," he said. "We had guys get shots up. Johnny Hil took six, Bryant Allen took nine and Jon Ekey shot four, so we had some other guys have shots go up they just weren't going in."

Muller said the Redbirds weren't able to execute their gameplan against the Aggies.

"To beat a really good team, on the road specifically, you have to execute better inside the lane, you have to guard better, and we didn't do either."

The Redbirds have now lost three straight and face their final two Missouri Valley Conference games this week.

Illinois State first celebrates Senior Night on Wednesday against Missouri State. Redbird Preview begins at 6 p.m. on WJBC AM 1230 and FM 93.7, before traveling to Northern Iowa on Saturday.
