Many writers, including Carl Hiassen and Elmore Leonard, have chosen south Florida as the setting of their stories. But perhaps the writer who has mined that part of the world for the most comedy is Dave Barry.
Barry tells Steve Fast that he had no other setting in mind for his new comic novel "Insane City."
"The idea was to take the two craziest institutions I know of, " Barry says, "the institution of the modern American wedding and the institution of the City of Miami, put them together and see what happens."
