Reva Mae Sparrow
Reva Mae Sparrow, 75, of Normal, formerly of Danvers, passed away at 9:12 p.m. on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at Heritage Health in Normal.
Her funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Otto-Argo-Calvert Memorial Homes in Danvers. Rev. Steve Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Park Lawn Cemetery, Danvers. Visitation will be 4-7 pm. Friday at the Otto-Argo-Calvert Memorial Homes in Danvers. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the Danvers Fire and Rescue.
Reva was born May 27, 1937 in Glen Dean, Ky., the daughter of Latney and Gresssie Decker Brooks. She married Joseph Sparrow on Feb. 3, 1956 in Merna, Ill. He passed away Nov. 25, 1996.
Surviving are three children, Becky (Willie) Hayes, Bloomington, Brian (Martha) Sparrow, Sumrall, Miss. and Ron (Debbie) Sparrow, Danvers; four grandchildren, Stephanie (Matthew) Jones, Luke (Ashley) Sparrow, Andrea (Greg) Wynn, Garrett Sparrow,a great-granddaughter
Cara Wynn, seven brothers, Norman (Helen) Brooks, Mo., Gene(Donna) Brooks, Ill., Albert (Shelly) Brooks, Texas, Latney (Carol) Brooks, Mo., Bob (Nancy) Brooks, Mike (Peggy) Brooks and Tim (Fonda) Brooks; three sisters, Rena McLeese, Mick (Charlie) Law and Betty (Dale) Harvel.
She is preceded in death by her parents and a son, Bart Sparrow.
Reva volunteered at the Home Sweet Home Mission. She worked at the Danvers Grade School, Heyworth Star and later worked at the Eastland Mall Food Court in Bloomington. Reva was actively involved in the early years of the Bloomington Corvette Corral. Reva attended the Danvers Baptist Church and Grace Church in Normal.
