Tami Brewer Pate
Tami Brewer Pate of Bloomington passed away at 6:36 a.m on Friday, March 15, 2013 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home in Bloomington with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. and from 10:30 a.m to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Bloomington. Her funeral mass will be 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church with Monsignor Doug Hennessy officiating. Burial will be in Park Hill Cemetery, Bloomington. The family suggests memorials be made to the McLean County Animal Shelter.
Tami was born Feb. 15, 1962, in Bloomington, the daughter of Gene Brewer and Georgianna Cunningham. She married Elex L. Pate on Apr. 30, 1983, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. He survives.
Also surviving are both parents, Gene (Faye) Brewer of Pensacola, Fla., and Georgianna (Gene) Cunningham of Bloomington; one son, Elex (Renika) Pate II and one daughter, Tia Pate, both of Bloomington; two grandchildren, Trinity and Elaina Pate; three sisters, Kimberli (Daniel) Carter of Bloomington, Jeana (Russell) Ballinger of Atlanta, Ill., and Kelli (Chris) Brown of Kappa; eight nieces and nephews and three great nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her nephew Michael Paul Miller.
Tami graduated from Normal Community High School. She had worked at Farm & Fleet and with her family at the Skate “N” Place in Bloomington.
Tami wanted to be a “Mom.” Her family was the love of her life.
