Bob Becker

Robert "Bob" Becker, 96, of Normal, Ill. passed away at 7:00 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013 at Heritage Manor in Normal. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013 at Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington with Rev. Kurt Flora officiating. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the memorial home on Saturday.

Interment will be in Mt Hope Cemetery in Sibley, Ill. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sibley Lutheran Church.

Bob was born on May 30, 1916 in Sibley to William John and Jessie F. (Clark) Becker. He married Bernadine Taylor on Aug. 31, 1940 in Anchor, Ill. She preceded him in death on Oct. 2, 2006.

Surviving is one son, Richard A. (Bernadine) Becker of Minooka, Ill; four grandchildren, Kim (Wayne) George and Shelly (Aaron) Hall all of Arkansas; Denise (Mike) Millsaps of Minooka, Ill; Debi (Don) Duggins of Morris, Ill; 12 great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.

In addition to his wife Bernadine, Bob was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Douglas and Keith Becker, one grandson, Allen Becker, one granddaughter, Lynne Collins, three brothers, and one sister.
He graduated from Sibley High School.

Bob was a farmer in his early years then retired from U-High around 1991 after 31 years of service.
He was an avid sports fan and loved the Chicago Cubs. He enjoyed wood working, his flower garden and spending time with his grandchildren and family

Bob was a former member of the Sibley United Methodist Church and Moose Lodge #745 in Bloomington.
