NORMAL - The Normal CornBelters aren't taking any chances that the world will come to an end when the Mayan calendar says it will end.
The CornBelters have put individual game tickets on sale to the general public through Dec. 21, the last day of the Mayan calendar.
"They are not necessarily convinced but, just in case the world does comes to an end on Friday, Dec. 21 (as the Mayan calendar predicts), they want their fans to go out with the finest tickets in hand," the CornBelters said in a news release.
The Belters will play their first home game of the 2013 season at The Corn Crib on Tuesday, May 21 at 7 p.m. versus the Windy City Thunderbolts.
“We don't really believe in superstitions or curses, but when we heard about the impending ‘apocalypse’ predicted by the Mayan calendar, we felt we had to do something BIG for our fans ahead of time!” said CornBelters Vice President of Ticket Sales Joe Rejc. “Hopefully it’s Y2K all over again, but you never know...”
Tickets to all 51 regular season home games are on sale now through Friday, Dec. 21 at 5 p.m.
Fans can view the 2013 schedule, check out The Corn Crib seating chart and purchase tickets online at www.normalbaseball.com.
