Statistician and blogger Nate Silver examines political polls with his FiveThirtyEight blog on the New York Times.
As a 25 year-old, Silver developed a system for forecasting baseball performance that he sold to Baseball Prospectus. His obsession with numbers led him to examine political polls. After starting his political blog in 2007, Silver correctly predicted the outcomes of all 35 U.S. Senate races, as well as the Presidential vote in 49 of 50 states.
The political analyst and blogger tells Steve Fast that the numbers reveal things the pundits do not.
Silver is the author of "The Signal and the Noise: Why So Many Predictions Fail - But Some Don't."
