BLOOMINGTON - A Chenoa man charged with murder in connection to the May 2011 death of his then-girlfriend's 3-year-old daughter will go to trial in March.
McLean County Assistant State's Attorney Bill Workman said 25-year-old David Gharrett's trial will begin on March 11th.
Gharrett allegedly threw Destiny Cox into a bathtub after she threw up on herself. An autopsy found Cox died of blunt force trauma to the abdomen and head.
The girl's mother, Candis Ethridge, was sentenced in February to 24 months of probation for child endangerment.
Gharrett will be back in court for a status hearing on Jan. 11.
