HEYWORTH - You can spend your Saturday afternoon with the animals of the Kickapoo Animal Rescue Alliance during a public visit day tomorrow in Heyworth.

Visitors are welcome to take a picnic lunch for themselves and treats for the animals. The Alliance just asks that all food be vegetarian with respect for the work the sanctuary does.

Public visit hours run from 12 to 3pm on East Kiowa Road in Heyworth. They are also accepting donations to help support the efforts of the Kickapoo Animal Rescue Alliance.

Supplies needed by KARA if you go:

Paper towels
Trash bags (both kitchen size and yard/lawn size)
Plastic grocery bags (we use these when cleaning out the cat litter boxes)
Cat litter
Pine shavings (bedding/flooring for the hens and ducks)
Poultry feed, pig/sow feed, and goat feed
