ST. LOUIS – Not only did Illinois State defensive lineman Colton Underwood get recognized for his accomplishments on the field in 2012, but he was also recognized for his work in the classroom when we was named to the Missouri Valley Football Conference All-Academic Team Wednesday.

Underwood was named a second-team selection for the second-straight year and was one of 11 players named to the list that also earned first-team all-conference honors. A junior marketing major at ISU, Underwood maintains a 3.25 cumulative grade-point average.

The Redbirds will return to action Saturday, Dec. 1, when they travel to Boone, N.C., to face Appalachian State in the second round of the NCAA Division I FCS playoffs.
