NAPERVILLE - Former Bloomington Extreme and Illinois Wesleyan assistant football coach Mike Murray is getting back into coaching.

Murray, named development director for Illinois State University athletics in December of 2011, has been hired as defensive coordinator at North Central College in Naperville, where he will work under another IWU alum, head coach John Thorne.

Murray was an assistant coach on Illinois Wesleyan football's staff from 2006-2010 before becoming head coach of the Bloomington Extreme in 2010.

Murray had also worked at Wesleyan from 1987-1996.

Murray previously served four seasons as head football coach at Dubuque (1997-2000) and was head coach at Benedictine (2001-03).
